Denver's Peyton Manning sets new NFL TD Passing mark

Denver quarterback Peyton Manning eclipsed Tom Brady's NFL single-season touchdown mark of 50 yesterday in the Broncos'  37-13 victory over Houston.. Manning  passed for 400 yards and four TDs to reach 51 surpassing Brady.

and four more touchdown passes in record setting fashion leading the Broncos to a convincing 37-13 victory over the hapless Houston Texans. Manning surpassed Tom Brady's NFL single season 50 touchdown passing record that he established back in 2007. Manning sits at 51 as he hit Julius Thomas with a 25-yard scoring pass with 4:28 to play to establish the new TD mark. Denver, 12-3, locked up the AFC West crown. Manning continued his banner, career setting season as he clicked on 32-of-51 passes as he bears down on Drew Brees' single season yardage record of 5,476 yards set in 2011. Manning enters next week's regular season road finale against the Oakland Raiders with 5,211 yards, needing 265 yards to top Brees' NFL mark.

Denver's Peyton Manning will start Sunday after an MRI didn't reveal any new damage to his
already battered right ankle. Interim coach Jack Del Rio, filling in for John Fox, who underwent a recent heart procedure, said Manning will practice this week and he would be surprised if Manning showed any signs of the injury heading into Sunday night's prime time home clash with the unbeaten 9-0 Kansas City Chiefs, the league's only remaining unbeaten team, under first-year head coach Andy Reid.
Manning is having a career year, leading the Broncos to an 8-1 record. Manning has passed for a league-high 3,249 yards with 33 touchdowns and just six interceptions. Manning has connected on 262-of-369 attempts, hitting on 71 percent of his passes. Manning's quarterback rating is 121.0.
New Orleans Saints' QB Drew Brees is second to Manning entering week 10 of the season. Brees has thrown for 3,064 yards with 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Brees has clicked on 247-of-363 attempts, hitting on 68 percent of his attempts with a 108.9 QB rating.
The 7-2 Saints enter a tough part of their schedule and host the San Francisco 49ers at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome Sunday with the kickoff set for 3:25.

Denver's Peyton Manning makes first visit back to Indianapolis

Denver's Peyton Manning made his first return to Indianapolis for a game last night since signing
with the Broncos, but it was his counterpart Andrew Luck and the Colts, who came out
victorious 39-33. Denver suffered its first loss at 6-1, while the Colts improved to 5-2.
Manning completed 29-of-49 passes for 386 yards with three touchdowns, while Andrew Luck passed
for 228 yards and also hit on three TD's.Luck ran the ball effectively, gaining 30 yards on three rushes. 
The New York Jets slipped past the New England  Patriots 30-27 in overtime with Nick Folk
booting a 42-yard field goal with 5:12 left in  OT. Folk had missed a 56-yard field goal attempt
on the previous play, but the Patriots were flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, giving Folk another chance and he came through.
New York is 4-3, while the Patriots stand at 5-2. The Jets' victory spoiled the return of Patriots' tight end Ron Grondkowski, who finished with 8 catches for 114 yards as Tom Brady targeted him in his return. Brady finished 22-of-46 for 228 yards, but without a TD pass, the second time that has happened this season.
Former LSU running back Stevan Ridley rushed the ball 11 times for 50 yards and scored a touchdown.
St. Louis Rams' signal caller Sam Bradford suffered a torn ACL in yesterday's 30-15 loss to the Carolina Panthers and will miss the remainder of the season. The Rams will be trying out quarterbacks today to address the loss of Bradford. Kellen Clemons filled in for the injured Bradford.   
In Monday Night Football, the win less New York Giants and Eli Manning hope to grab that
surprising elusive initial victory going against the Minnesota Vikings and last year's MVP Adrian
Peterson. Viking head coach Leslie Frazier has tabbed former Tampa Bay starter, Josh Freeman,
as the team's starting quarterback. Freeman takes over for Matt Cassell, who started the last two games for the Vikes after Christian Ponder was injured.

Denver's Peyton Manning to meet Colts in Indianapolis

Denver Bronco quarterback Peyton Manning, who leads the NFL in passing yardage with 2,179
yards and 22 touchdowns, makes his first return to Indianapolis since being traded to the Broncos.
Manning is having a spectacular season, completing 74.5 percent of his passes, averaging 363 yards per game with just two interceptions in 240 pass attempts. 
Manning will do battle with second-year QB Andrew Luck, the future of the Colts, in a Sunday night encounter. Denver linebacker Von Miller returns to the Broncos' lineup after serving his suspension, which should help bolster their defense, hoping to shut down Luck and the Colts' passing game. 
The Broncos are one of two unbeaten NFL teams, joining the Kansas City Chiefs with that distinction at 6-0.
Saints' QB Drew Brees, who has helped lead the Black & Gold to a 5-1 record, is second in
passing yardage behind Manning with 1,958 yards.
Brees has thrown 14 TD passes with five picks, while connecting on 66.2 percent of his
attempts. Brees is averaging 326 yards per contest.
The Saints are on their bye week and return to action  Sunday Oct. 27, hosting the Buffalo Bills.

Denver's Peyton Manning sets TD record

Denver's Peyton Manning put on another passing clinic yesterday, clicking on 28-of-34 passes
for 327 yards with four more touchdowns, leading the Broncos to a 52-20 victory over the
Philadelphia Eagles.
Manning set an NFL record with 16 passing touchdowns in the opening four games and has yet
to throw an interception, putting up a Denver franchise record 52 points. Manning bested the
previous league mark of 14 TD passes by Dallas' "Dandy" Don Meredith in 1966 and tied by Kurt
Warner in 1999.
Manning hooked up with Demarius Thomas and Wes Welker for two TD passes each and didn't play in
the fourth quarter.
Manning tops the league with 1,470 passing yards. He has the Broncos' offense clicking early off to the quality 4-0 start, while the struggling Eagles slipped to 1-3 underfirst-year head coach Chip Kelley.

Denver's Peyton Manning continues to blister opposing defenses. Manning set an NFL mark with 16 TD passes in just four games without throwing an interception.

Denver's Peyton Manning lights it up

Denver's Peyton Manning opened the NFL season last night in exploding record-setting fashion
connecting on seven touchdown passes leading the Broncos to a 49-27 victory over the defending
Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens in the high altitude of Denver.
The game's start was delayed 34-minutes due to lightening strikes before Manning, who finished
the night, clicking on 27-of-42 for 462 yards, was on fire gutting the Baltimore Ravens porous
secondary.
Manning, who appeared to be in playoff form, finding his receivers, becomes just the sixth
player in NFL history to toss seven touchdowns in a game.
Manning joins the likes of Joe Kapp, 1969, Y. A. Title, 1962, George Blanda, 1961, Adrian Burk,
1954 and Sid Luckman, 1943.
Only Manning and Title accomplished the seven TD passes without throwing an interception.
Free agent receiver Wes Welker hauled in nine receptions from Manning going for 67 yards and
two TDs. Demarius Thomas pulled in five catches for 161 yards with two scores. Little known
tight end Julius Thomas added five catches for 110 yards with two touchdowns.
Manning appeared to be able to hook up at will as the Broncos' receivers managed to get free
throughout the night and the QB was able to find them.
Baltimore's Joe Flacco aired it out as well, completing 34-of-62 passes, finishing with two
TD strikes.
The Ravens suffered a couple of key injuries with wide receiver/returner Jacoby Jones
spraining a knee and offensive tackle Michael Oher sustained an ankle injury and neither

player returned.
