Northshore and Mandeville basketball

Northshore's Panthers continued their winning ways and remained atop the 
District 6-5A standings following a 81-70 victory over the Fontainebleau 
Bulldogs. Northshore's Josh Calvin netted 17 points, connecting on 5-of-9 
three-point attempts. Will Claiborne registered a double-double with 14 
points and 11 rebounds, while KJ Hopkins finished with 14 points and four 
steals for the Panthers. Brett McNeese contributed eight points with four 
assists and Derrick McDonald added eight points with three assists. 
Northshore 12-11 after a 3-10 start, stand at 9-1 in district play. Northshore 
travels to St. Paul's tomorrow to battle the Wolves. 
 
In other District 6-5A boys' action, the second place Mandeville Skippers 
earned a 46-32 victory over arch-rival St. Paul's, setting a new district 
home attendance record with a crowd of over 1,000 fans. Logan Barrigan, 
a 1,000-point scorer for the Skippers, poured in 20 points followed by 
Hunter Dugas with 14. Mandeville upped its record to 19-8 and trails the 
district front running Northshore Panthers by one game at 8-2 in district play.
