Doves get another win
The St. Scholastica Academy Doves continued to
roll yesterday posting a 9-0 victory over the Covington Lady Lions spearheaded
by a balanced scoring attack. Courtney Robicheaux, the Doves' leading scorer,
registered two more goals and Sami Verchi netted two to spark the attack.
Maegan Due, nicknamed "Ish" by her teammates added a goal along with
Kate Gutterman, Taylor Lambert, Jenna Pecot and Natalie Helm. SSA moves to 15-1
on the year and is still unblemished in district play at 11-0 with three district
matches remaining. SSA head coach Mike Ortner named Brooke Doyle, the Doves'
top defender.

SSA trims Mandeville 4-2 in girls soccer
St. Scholastica Academy's Abby Childress delivered a hat trick and Courtney Robicheaux added a netter sparking the Doves to a 4-2 win over the Mandeville Lady Skippers. Elena Nicari was the winning keeper. SSA, ranked No. 1 in the state, moved to 13-1 overall and 9-0 in district. Mandeville 18-5-1 and 5-4 had goals from Mia Dubroc on a penalty kick and Mackenzie Manuel, who tallied to tie the match 2-2 before SSA answered with two more goals to secure the victory.

No. 1 ranked SSA Doves soccer team appearing on Northshore Sports tonight
St. Scholastica Academy's Doves, the No. 1 ranked team in the Louisiana High School Soccer Coaches Association and No. 1 in the power rankings, will be appearing on Northshore Sports tonight. Head coach Mike Ortner and members of the 11-1 Doves will stop by WOW Cafe in the Clarion Inn & Suites on Highway 190 in Covington to visit. Tonight's show airs from 7 to 8 o'clock.

SSA soccer blanks Slidell Lady Tigers; Doves to appear on Northshroe Sports
The St. Scholastica Academy Doves rolled past the Slidell Lady Tigers 10-0 yesterday behind
Sidney Sharp's hat trick and two goals by Courtney Robicheaux. The Doves, 11-1 on the season, remained unbeaten in the district race at 7-0. Elaina Nacari and Emily Daigle split time in goal to post the shut out, while Doves' coach Mike Ortner, named Brooke Doyle his top defender. The Doves' defense continues to excel and has only allowed four goals this season. SSA players and coach Ortner, will be appearing tomorrow night on Northshore Sports, broadcasting live from our title sponsor WOW Cafe in the Clarion Inn & Suites on Highway 190 in Covington. Tomorrow night's show airs from 7 to 8 p.m. Join us as we get some insight on the Doves one of the girls' premier soccer teams here on the Northshore.

Archbishop Hannan Lady Hawks edge SSA on Megan Baker free throw
The Archbishop Hannan Lady Hawks trimmed the St. Scholastica Academy Doves 36-35 last night in
non-district play with Megan Baker hitting a free throw with the contest tied at 35-all. Baker sank her game-winning free throw with 20 seconds left. Hannan, 7-9, was led by Rachael LePere with 13 points. Archbishop Hannan's Megan Reilly came up big registering a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds to help spark the Lady Hawks' victory. Lizzie Legarde topped SSA with 19 points as the Doves slipped to 8-9. Archbishop Hannan returns to action tomorrow hosting the First Baptist Christian School Lady Eagles at 5 o'clock. SSA is at home this afternoon hosting Belle Chasse also with a 5 o'clock tip off.

St. Scholastica Academy earns third consecutive state swimming title in Sulphur; congrats to the Doves
Congratulations to the St. Scholastica Academy Doves' swim team, which captured its third straight Division II Swimming Championship Saturday at the SPAR Aquatic Center in Sulphur. The Doves with one of their deepest teams coached by Chris Prator won the team title with 495 points followed by Ruston 253 and Sacred Heart 237.
In Division I, the Mandeville Lady Skippers put together a quality runner-up finish on the strength of Megan Loop being selected the Division I Outstanding Swimmer. St. Joseph's Academy won the team title with 558 points followed by Mandeville with 276 points. The Northshore Lady Panthers took third place earning 204 points. Mandeville coach Robbie Fritscher said his team swam great and he was proud of Loop's overall performance.

Mandeville takes second at Catholic High Invitational
Mandeville's girls' cross country team gave it their all Saturday in the Catholic High Invitational run at Highland Park in Baton Rouge, but came up a little short in the team competition falling to Menard, which won the event with 68 points followed by the Lady Skippers at 89. St. Scholastica Academy earned an 8th place finish with 244 points, while Fontainebleau came in 10th at 280 points. Ponchatoula finished in 16th place with 446 points.
St. Joseph's Annie Hill won the individual title with a time of 18:25.97, outdistancing the 242-runner field. Hill held off SSA's Carly Boyce, who finished at 18:40.97. Mandeville's Olivia Murphy took third at 18:49.34. Murphy's teammates, Chelsea Jones came in 11th at 19:31.53 and Claire Crosby was 16th at 19:59.15.
Two Fontainebleau runners broke the top 20 individual standings with Courtney Smith taking 18th at 20:06.91 and Olivia Hunt in 20th place at 20:09.44.
