Northshore's Panthers, the defending District 6-5A champs, turned back the
Hammond Tornadoes 75-67 Friday and remained in first place in the district
race. The Panthers, 14-11 overall and 11-1 in district play, hold a one game
advantage over the Mandeville Skippers. The Panthers and Skippers square off
tomorrow night at Mandeville to determine the district champion. A Northshore
victory over Mandeville would clinch the outright title for the Panthers.
Northshore's KJ Hopkins delivered for the Panthers dropping in 22 points with
seven rebounds and three assists. Will Claiborne was solid once again posting a
double-double scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Brett McNeese contributed
12 points and five assists for the victorious Panthers.
