Ten St. Tammany Parish boys soccer teams received good news yesterday as the Louisiana High School Athletic Association released the playoff brackets for Divisions I, II and III.
In Division I there were five St. Tammany Parish clubs listed including No. 2 seed St. Paul's Wolves. St. Paul's opens the bi-district round tomorrow, hosting No. 31 seed Central of Baton Rouge with a 5:30 start at Hunter Stadium.
Mandeville's Skippers enter as the No. 9 seed and will host No. 24 Airline tomorrow at 4:30. The Northshore Panthers are a No. 10 seed and host No. 23 Hahnville this Saturday at 5 p.m. Fontainebleau's Bulldogs are seeded No. 18 and will travel to No. 15 Caddo Magnet for a 4:30 match tomorrow. The Covington Lions drew a No. 29 seed and are on the road against No. 4 Acadiana.
In Division II, the Lakeshore Titans, drew a No. 4 seed and a first-round bye. The Titans will advance and play the winner of No. 13 Lutcher and No. 20 Westgate. Pearl River is No. 18 seed and travels to No. 15 Leesville tomorrow for a 5 o'clock match. The Salmen Spartans come in at No. 22 and travel to No. 11 Loyola Prep.
In Division III, the No. 2 seeded Northlake Christian School Wolverines, host No. 31 seed St. Frederick tomorrow at 4 o'clock. Pope John Paul II is the No. 17 seed and travels to No. 16 Parkview Baptist.
Switching to the girls bracket, which was announced on Tuesday, there are nine St. Tammany Parish clubs entering the soccer playoffs and three of them are in action today. In Division I play this afternoon, the No. 8 seeded Mandeville Lady Skippers host No. 25 Hahnville at 6 o'clock. In Division II action, the No. 1 seed Pope John Paul II Lady Jaguars host the No. 32 Academy of Sacred Heart this afternoon at 5. No. 12 seed Northlake Christian School is also in action today hosting No. 21 Ascension Episcopal at 6 p.m.
