NBA player Chris Duhon, a 2000 honors graduate of Salmen High, and the Stand Tall Foundation
annually awards five $5,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in St. Tammany Parish Public
Schools. This year's recipients, which were previously announced, include Giselle Callahan
and Desiree Nicole Williams both of Covington High School along with Leslie Malcom Blades of
Lakeshore High, Jacob Daniel McKay from Mandeville High and Christopher Michael Milligan
representing Slidell High.
This year's recipients will be honored at the annual scholarship dinner, which takes place
tonight at the Northshore Harbor Center in Slidell beginning at 7 o'clock. The keynote
speaker is 2010 Stand Tall Scholar Mary Zar. In 2010, Mary became the first person in her family
to graduate from high school and is currently on pace to graduate from Southeastern Louisiana
University in May of next year, with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology.
