The 80th edition of the Allstate Sugar Bowl treated fans to a thriller last night as the Oklahoma Sooners defied the odds and knocked off No. 3 ranked Alabama 45-31 in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Oklahoma red shirt freshman quarterback Trevor Knight out dueled Alabama's AJ McCarron in an offensive uprising to spark the Sooners' victory. Knight completed 32-of-44 attempts for 348 yards and four touchdowns as the 16-point underdog Sooners snatched the victory from Nick Saban and the 11-2 Crimson Tide. Saban now stands at 60-7 in his five seasons with Bama. The 11th ranked Sooners, under Bob Stoops, also finish the season at 11-2, pulling off the big upset. The teams combined for 945 yards, which included 735 passing yards. Alabama produced 516 yards of offense compared to 429 for Oklahoma, but the Sooners got the job done behind Knight's excellent performance.
