LSU Soccer No. 1 SEC recruiting class

LSU's soccer team is excited about the upcoming season and rightly so following their outstanding 2013 recruiting class, which features five, highly regarded international players. The editorial staff at www.AllWhiteKit.com ranked the Tigers as the No. 1 ranked Class in the Southeastern Conference and the No. 14-ranked class in the NCAA. The Tigers' preseason training camp begins Aug. 6. Each of LSU's international recruits joins the program with a wealth of starting experience for their respective countries at the FIFA Women's World Cup at the Under-17 and Under-20 levels, which should bode well for helping them make an early impact for the Lady Tigers.
Junior transfer Natalia Gomez-Junco from Monterey, Mexico, enrolled back in January amd four incoming freshmen will join the team including striker Summer Clarke from Canada along with attacking mid-fielder Emma Fletcher and center back Rebecca Pongetti also from Canada joining New Zealand's left back Megan Lee.
LSU head coach Brian Lee said, "We're excited to have this kind of momentum on our side as we get ready to open the preseason training in the coming weeks. We expect this to be as competitive a preseason camp as we have ever had with this level of talent joining our program ahead of the fall season," Lee added. Lee went on to say, "This class of recruits will be a great complement to the talent we have returning from last year's squad."
LSU finished 9-8-4 last year, going 5-6-2 in SEC play.
