New Orleans Saints falter on the road falling to the St. Louis Rams

Will the real New Orleans Saints' football team please stand up? The Saints turned in another
lackluster road-performance and suffered a damaging  loss yesterday this time falling to the St. Louis Rams 27-16 as Drew Brees was picked off twice resulting in two early touchdowns. The 10-4 Saints slipped into an NFC South Division tie with the Carolina Panthers and will travel to Carolina for this week's game. The Panthers, who unlike the Saints, got it done yesterday, defeated the New York Jets 30-20. The Saints' offense struggled to protect Brees in yesterday's loss and the defense had no answer for the Rams' offense being run by backup QB Kellen Clemens, an eight-year pro out of  Oregon, playing in place of injured Sam Bradford. Klemens was sharp, completing 14-of-20 for 158 yards and two scoring tosses without being sacked by the Saints' defense, which generated five sacks in last week's victory over Carolina. Vanderbilt rookie running back Zac Stacy turned in a solid performance rushing for 133 yards on 28 carries with a TD. Brees aired it out 56 times, completing 36 passes for 393 yards with a TD to Marques Colston, but the two early picks proved to be crucial as the Saints lacked any consistency of offense. Colston caught eight balls for 92 yards.
