Saints move to 3-0 in preseason

The New Orleans Saints took another step forward yesterday winning their third consecutive
preseason game, downing the highly touted Houtson Texans 31-23 on the road.
Drew Brees started the game and went 4-for-6 for 104 yards a touchdown, while backups Luke McCown
and Tulane's Ryan Griffin looked good in relief helping the Saints remain unbeaten as they close
out the regular season this Thursday Aug. 29 on the road, taking on the Miami Dolphins.
McCown  hit on 10-of-14 attempts for 118 yards with two scores as he continued to look sharp
during the preseason. Griffin was also on target, clicking on 8-of-13 for 86 yards with a
score. The Saints' trio of QB's continued to get the job done, completing 22-of-33 overall for
308 yards with four TD passes without tossing a pick.
In the running game, the Saints had 21 attempts led by Mark Ingram with 24 yards on four
rushes, who picked up 23 yards on one career.
Pierre Thomas gained 19 yards on four carries and caught a 51-yard touchdown on a quality
catch-and-run.
Receiver Andy Tanner had a solid game catching a team-high three receptions for 33 yards with two
scores, while running back Tavaris Cadet hauled in three passes for 37 yards. 
Oklahoma rookie Kenny Stills continued his impressive preseason, hauling in two catches,
including another touchdown.
Defensively, No. 1 pick safety Kenny Vaccaro, continued his knack for finding the football as
he led the club with five solo stops with an assist. Ramon Humer and Malcolm Jenkins each
delivered five primary tackles.
