Archbishop Hannan cruises past Mt. Hermon


In Thursday night High School football, the Archbishop Hannan Hawks rolled to a 44-14
District 7-2A road victory over the undermanned Mt. Hermon Yellow Jackets behind senior Michael
Froeba's four rushing touchdowns. Froeba gained 42 yards rushing, making the most of his short yardage scoring opportunities. Garrett Groce tallied on a 49-yard kickoff return, while Ryan Hensarling scored from a yard
out for the Hawks. Placekicker Peyton Hudson kicked a 24-yard field goal for the Hawks and
added four extra points. 
The Hawks' didn't play senior quarterback Korey Zeigler resting him for the playoffs, so Bruce
DiMartino started and Jonathan Ryan also saw action as the Hawks pulled their starters giving
the younger players some valuable varsity game time experience. Place kicker Peyton Hudson kicked a 24-yard field goal and made four extra points for the Hawks.
Hannan wide receivers' coach Sean Zeigler said Mt. Hermon didn't quite despite only having 14
players on the roster. He praised them for giving a good effort right down to the end, despite falling behind 35-0 at the half.     
The Hawks move to 8-2 on the regular season and finish 5-2 in district play good for third place
behind District leader Northlake Christian School and St. Thomas Aquinas, which close out their
regular seasons tonight.
