New Orleans Pelicans' waste Anthony Davis double-double in loss to Utah Jazz
The New Orleans Pelicans wasted a double-double by Anthony Davis last night dropping its third
game on a Western Conference road trip, falling to the Utah Jazz 111-105.
Davis poured in 29 points with 15 rebounds including eight on the offensive end with a blocked shot. Davis' performance wasn't enough as the Pelicans slipped to 3-5, while Utah won its first game of the season in nine attempts. Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans added 19 points each. Eric Gordon and Jason Smith broke into
double digits with Gordon scoring 16 points followed by Smith with 10, but it wasn't enough.
The Pels blew a 55-45 halftime advantage.
Utah's Gordon Heyward, a graduate of Butler University in Indianapolis, recorded a double-double dropping in 27 points with 10 assists for the Jazz. The Pelicans return home to the Arena tomorrow night and host the Cleveland Cavaliers.
