The NBA season tips off tonight with a doubleheader on TNT. Game one features the
two-time defending champion Miami Heat with LeBron James hosting the Chicago Bulls and
Derrick Rose, who returns to action following his knee surgery. The Heat-Bulls action will be
followed by the Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant, making his comeback from his achilles
heel injury, hosting the L. A. Clippers and Chris Paul. The third game pits the Indiana
Pacers, hosting the Orlando Magic. The Pacers will be without the services of forward Danny
Granger, who is out for three weeks with a calf injury. Granger, who played at Grace King High
School in Metairie, was a McDonald's All-American. Granger, an NBA All-Star in 2009,
was also voted Most Improved Player that year and was an NBA All-Rookie Second-Team selection
in 2006.
