St. Paul's Zachary Albright wins Catholic High Invitational

The St. Paul's Wolves cross country team kept up its unbeaten streak last Saturday with a solid team effort, capturing the Catholic High Invitational run at Highland Park in Baton Rouge. St. Paul's senior runner Zachary Albright continued to shine winning the individual title in a time of 15:06.81 in the talented 304-runner field. Albright finished ahead of Hahnville's Bryce Robinson by less than two seconds in a
competitive race. St. Paul's freshman runner Eric Coston settled for third place with a time of 15:24.12. St. Paul's D. C. Lipani earned a sixth-place finish at 15:56.38.
Mandeville's Dylan Heck was the top Skipper runner in 12 place at 16:11.91 Northshore's top
finisher was Noah Martin at 16:15 followed by St. Paul's Spencer Albright just three tenths of
a second behind.St. Paul's Kraemer Jackson came in 18th place at 16:23.84 to garner a top 20
finish.
The Wolves captured the team competition in the 43-team field with 43 points followed by the
host Catholic High at 99 points and John Curtis took third with 172 points. Some other local
teams took part with the Mandeville Skippers finishing eighth with 312 points followed by the
Northshore Panthers in 11th place with 393 points. Ponchatoula came in 14th place with
426 points and the Fontainebleau Bulldogs took 17th position with 450 points. Salmen was 32nd
with with 912 points followed by Slidell with 923 points.
The undefeated Wolves' cross country team hopes to continue its streak this Saturday, competing
in the highly competitive Walker Shootout.
