PJP II Jags roll in jamboree

Pope John Paul II's Jaguars scored early and often Friday night scoring seven first half
touchdowns rolling past Cohen 61-0 with Chance Caire scoring four touchdowns in the opening
game of the Newman Jamboree.
Jags' head coach Mark Jeanmard said his team played extremely well.
"We played hard. We were very physical and executed our game plan very well," Jeanmard
said.
Jeanmard highlighted the play of the Jags' offensive line including the effort of captain
Sean O'Brien, who played on both sides of the ball. Jeanmard said the Jaguars ran successfully
behind O'Brien most of the night operating out of the triple option. Jeanmard also said senior
Justin Gandy did a nice job opening holes.
Mason Klotz and Andrew Arata returned interceptions for scores.
Pope John Paul II opens the season Friday night on the road, tangling with St. Patrick's out of
Biloxi, Mississippi.
The Jags home opener is Sept. 13, hosting the Pearl River Rebels.
Coach Jeanmard said the Jaguars will be recognizing area public servants beginning at
6:45 prior to the kickoff including St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, Police Department,
Louisiana State Troopers, firefighters, emergency room doctors and Wildlife and Fisheries. Last season the Jags recognized military service members for their sacrifices.
