New York Giants post first win

The New York Giants finally secured that elusive first victory by downing the Minnesota Vikings
23-7 in Monday Night Football. New York is 1-6, while Minnesota is 1-5.
Former LSU star Rueben Randle caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Eli Manning. Randle finished with three receptions for 40 yards.
Manning completed 20-of-31 passes for 200 yards with the TD connection to Randle in the second quarter.
Minnesota starter, Josh Freeman, who was picked up after he was let go by the Tampa Bay Bucs, struggled in his new offense going just 20-for-53 and 190 yards. Vikes' running back Adrian Peterson, last year's MVP, was contained by the Giants' defense, which limited him to just 28 yards on 13 carries as he was a non-factor.
New York running back Peyton Hillis, who was signed by the Giants on Wednesday, made his return, carrying the ball 18 times, gaining 36 tough inside yards and scored on a one-yard run.  The Giants have been decimated this season at the running back position enduring numerous injuries.
Color man Jon Gruden had a great line during last night's game, saying with Peyton Hillis in the Giants' backfield that is probably the only time you will see Peyton in the backfield with Eli, referencing Manning's older brother, Payton of the Denver Broncos.
