SLU travels to Northwestern State

Southeastern Louisiana University, 4-2, on a three-game winning streak is on the road this week taking on the 3-3 Northwestern State Demons. Lions' junior quarterback Bryan Bennett had a banner day passing for 337 yards with four touchdowns last Saturday leading SLU to a convincing 56-14 Southland Conference opening win over visiting Stephen F. Austin.
Bennett, who also scored on a 53-yard run and gained a team-high gaining 72 yards rushing, was named the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his outstanding effort, while teammate Marice Sutton picked up the conference award for the Defensive Player of the Week as he picked off two passes,
returning one for a score.
Northwestern State came up short last week  falling to Nicholls State.
