Tulane edges East Carolina in three overtime thriller

The Tulane Green Wave electrified a Mercedes-Benz Superdome crowd Saturday holding
off East Carolina for a thrilling 36-33 three overtime victory. Tulane senior kicker Cairo
Santos booted five field goals, including a 42-yard game-winner in the third overtime to
seal the deal for the Green Wave.
Tulane, 5-2, moved to 3-0 in Conference USA play, and hosts the Tulsa Hurricanes this Saturday in the Dome.
Devin Powell, the Greenies' red-shirt freshman backup quarterback, who played at O. Perry Walker, passed for 224 yards and two TDs in overtime to help spark the Wave.
The Tulane defense did its part, registering six sacks, totaling 60 yards. 
 Tulane Green Wave senior place kicker Cairo Santos. He booted five field goals including a 42-yarder in the third overtime to propel the Green Wave to a 36-33 victory over Conference USA foe, East Carolina.
Green Wave red-shirt freshman back up quarterback Devin Powell tossed two TDs in overtime.
