The Hawks have 15 seniors on the roster and head coach Pat Lambert, heading into his fourth
year, and his staff are excited about the season with some excellent senior leadership.
"We have a great group of senior leaders and they have been through some wars and battles
together."
Lambert said he is excited about the team's offensive skill position players with seniors
quarterback Korey Zeigler, running back Michael Froeba and receiver Jason Brooks, ready to
shoulder the load.
Defensively, the Hawks are moving senior Zack Castelluccio from linebacker to strong safety,
replacing Colin Becnel, who graduated. Lambert described Castelluccio as the player that makes
the Hawks go defensively.
Defensive coordinator Bobby Scelfo, also in his fourth-year, returns and coach Lambert said he
couldn't do it without him and the rest of the Hawks' dedicated staff.
Scelfo said his senior leaders definitely know the defensive system and are teaching the
younger guys. "They are all coaches on the field," said Scelfo.
Coach Scelfo said he has special things planned for Castelluccio and he will be all over the field.
Scelfo said it's simple, he's looking for attitude, fundamentals and execution from his
defense.
Coach Lambert credited Archbishop Hannan principal Father Charles Latour, with doing a
fantastic job supporting the sports programs to help get them where they are.
The Hawks open the regular season, hosting Class 4A Riverdale Sept. 6.
