CHS camp

The Covington High Fighting Lions under new head coach Greg Salter continue their preparations
for the season. The Lions are headed for their usual destination this time of the year that
being McComb, Mississippi, to conduct their annual camp at Percy Quinn State Park. The Lions
will hold practice sessions through Sunday and will host a "Parent Night on Saturday.
CHS is also involved in the inaugural Junior High Football Kickoff Classic 2013, which is
scheduled for Aug. 24 at Jack Salter Stadium. The  inaugural kickoff will feature local Junior High
squads competing in a triple header. The action gets underway a week from Saturday. There is a
$5.00 admission charge and the gates will open at 3 o'clock an hour before the games get
underway. Lee Road Jr. High battles Madisonville Jr in the opener followed by Fifth Ward going against Archbishop Hannan's eighth grade team. The nightcap scheduled for 8 o'clock features William Pitcher Jr. High and Folsom Jr. High.
