There are a number of story lines reference tomorrow's LSU-Auburn match up in the SEC opener
for both clubs in Death Valley. Both teams feature 3-0 records heading into the contest.
LSU slipped past Auburn 12-10 last year at Jordan-Hare Stadium grabbing only the second win
by the road team in the series over the past 13 meetings. Tomorrow's game is set for a 6:45
kickoff being broadcast on ESPN.
LSU hasn't trailed this season, leading all 180 minutes of game time.
Zach Mettenberger and his Tiger teammates are a perfect 15-of-15 in the red zone this season.
Mettenberger has directed 11 touchdowns plus the Tigers' have booted four field goals. Mettenberger leads the SEC in pass efficiency as he has completed 45-of-69 passes for 797 yards with nine touchdowns, a Tiger school record for three games surpassing former Tiger star Matt Mauck, who had eight.
All-American running back /return specialist Kevin Faulk is LSU's representative on the 2013
Southeastern Conference football legends class. The 14-member class, one from each institution,
is made up of players who "excelled on the gridiron and helped write the rich history of
their sport," according to an SEC release. The class will be honored at the "Weekend of
Champions" on Dec. 6-7 in Atlanta.
Faulk, who played for the Tigers from 1995-98, is LSU's All-Time leading rusher and was a
3-time All-SEC selection. Faulk spent 13 seasons with the New England Patriots and was a member
of three Super Bowl winning teams.
