Former LSU and NBA basketball star Shaquille O'Neal, who is never at a loss for words and
always loves to poke fun at others, is a minority owner of the Sacramento Kings, a team
that he pounded on during his playing days. He declared the new name of the city "Shaqramento."
O'Neal said he wants to make amends to Kings' fans for his past verbal swipes. While winning
three NBA crowns with the Los Angeles Lakers, he called the franchise the "Sacramento Queens."
Shaq said, "I apologize. If you see me around town, come give me a hug, give me a kiss. I'll
do whatever you want," said O'Neal.
The 15-time All-Star, who closed out a 19-year career in 2011, said he has no intention of
being a silent investor. O'Neal said he wants to help mentor center DeMarcus Cousins, while giving his input on basketball decisions and help the team build the NBA's first "indoor-outdoor arena."
