Tulane sophomore golfer Emily Penttila, who earned a sixth-place finish last week at the
Dale McNamara Fall Preview in Tulsa, Okla., has been named the Conference USA Golfer of the
week. Penttila finished one under par at 209 with rounds of 71-67-71. It was the second time
in Penttila's career that she has received the honor, also winning the award back in February
as a freshman.
Pentilla's second-round, three-under 67, was the only golfer in the field to play error-free golf
and was tied for first place entering last week's final round.
The 18th ranked Green Wave finished in 10th place last week, capturing its best finish at
the prestigious event. The Wave came in ahead of No. 9 Vanderbilt, No. 15 North Carolina and No.
17 Georgia.
Tulane returns to action Sept. 20-22 at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships, hosted
by the University of Tennessee.
