The Covington Lady Lions continued their winning ways edging the Slidell Lady Tigers 48-44 Friday in a key District 6-5A encounter behind 18 points from CoCo McDowell, while Brooke Jones and Remetta Lombard totaled eight points each. Covington moved to 18-2 and 3-0 in district, while Slidell stands at 11-8 suffering its first district loss at 2-1. Jewell Thompson topped Slidell with 15 points followed by Kayla Cureaux with 13.
