Northshore Panthers down Covington in District 6-5A bsketball opener



Northshore's KJ Hopkins netted 26 points Tuesday leading the Panthers to an 89-64 victory over
the Covington Lions in the district opener. Northshore's Brett McNeese and Will Claiborne
registered key double-doubles for the victorious Panthers. McNeese finished with 14 points and 11
assists, while Claiborne contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds for the 5-10 Panthers. Covington, 6-9, placed four players in double figures led by George Brister with 22 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Jeremy Haar finished posting a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Robert Mormon netted 11 points and Marcus Hollin added 10 for the Lions.
