The Archbishop Hannan Hawks continue their preparations as they have their sights set on competing in tomorrow afternoon's LHSAA/State Farm Prep Classic Division III state championship game doing battle with the No. 2 seed Calvary Baptist Cavaliers. The Lake 94.7 will broadcast tomorrow's Division III championship tilt so join Matt Penix and I for the pregame show beginning at 12:15 tomorrow originating from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome followed by the 12:30 kickoff. The 11-2 Hawks have put together a masterful season under fourth-year head coach Pat Lambert. The high-soaring Hawks have been impressive winning their three playoff games putting up 115 points during their  three playoff game run. Archbishop Hannan's most impressive victory was a 12-7 semifinal victory over No. 1 seed and previously unbeaten Episcopal Knights. Talented senior quarterback Korey Zeigler, who has started since the eighth grade, is poised and ready to lead his Hawks into the Division III championship game. Zeigler, who tore his ACL last season, has made his way back and turned in a consistent, productive season, throwing for 1,780 yards, completing 154-of-236 passes with an effective completion percentage of 65.3. Zeigler has 20 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. Zeigler shined in the Hawks' 42-14 quarterfinal victory over the Pope John Paul II Jaguars. Zeigler, a true dual threat, is also the team's second leading rusher with 749 yards and 12 TDs. Senior running back Michael Froeba handles the bulk of the Hawks' rushing attack, rushing the ball 193 times for 1,197 yards with a team-high 15 scores. Froeba was sensational in the semifinal victory gaining 144 yards on 27 carries to help the Hawks advance. Senior Jason Brooks is the Hawks' top receiver with 59 catches for 530 yards. Brooks has two receiving touchdowns. Brooks is the third leading rusher with 381 yards and four scores. Hollander caught a key 44-yard scoring strike from Zeigler, which helped propel the Hawks past Episcopal in the semifinals. Sewald, who has come on during the latter part of the season has 18 catches including four TD catches. Sewald caught three touchdowns from Zeigler in the quarterfinal victory over PJP II. The Hawks' defense has done its job under fourth-year defensive coordinator Bobby Scelfo. Scelfo has a knack for putting his Hawks in good situations as they execute his game plan. The Hawks have only allowed 41 points in three playoff games. Known as the "Heart and Soul" of the defense, senior Zack Castelluccio, who enters the championship game, leading the Hawks with 89 tackles. Castelluccio is second on the team with five interceptions putting him one behind team leader Gavin Brooks.  Senior Mitchell Morel is the second leading tackler with 77 stops and a team-high four sacks.
