Chicago running back Matt Forte, a former Slidell High Tiger graduate and star at Tulane University, helped spark the Bears to a key victory last night in a convincing 45-28 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Monday night football. Forte, a model of consistency for the Bears over the years, put together another solid effort rushing for 102 yards on 20 carries and was a threat out of the backfield catching seven passes for 73 yards with a touchdown. Thirty-four year-old quarterback Josh McCown filling in for the injured Jay Cutler, dazzled the Bears' crowd tossing four TD passes, completing 27-of-36 passes for 348 yards disecting a porous Cowboy defense. McCown, the brother of Saints' backup QB Luke McCown, is causing somewhat of a quarterback controversy in the city of Chicago. McCown also rushed the ball three times for 16 yards. Wide receiver Brandon Marshall also contributed to the Bears' offensive attack catching six passes for 100 yards. Dallas' Tony Romo three three touchdowns, going 11of-20 for just 104 yards. Both clubs stand at 7-6 still in playoff contention with three regular season contests remaining.
