Denver Broncos downed by San Diego Chargers


Denver's Peyton Manning tosses two TDs in 27-20 loss to San Diego in Thursday Night football.
Peyton Manning and Denver suffered a key loss at the hands of Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers last night in Thursday Night football as the Broncos fell 27-20 taking their first home loss following seven straight victories. Manning completed 27-of-41 passes for 289 yards and two more touchdowns, givng him 47 TD passes for the season, but it wasn't enough. Rivers, however did enough passing for 166 yards and two TDs, while Ryan Mathews rushed for 127 yards with a score to help propel the 7-7 Chargers keeping their playoff hopes alive. The Broncos' rushing attack was nearly non-existent as Knowshon Moreno was limited to only 19 yards on eight carries. Manning leads the NFL with 4,811 yards with a league high rating of 112.9. The Saints' Drew Brees is in second yardage wise with 4,107 yards tossing 33 touchdowns wns with eight picks. Rivers is the league's only other 4,000 yard passer at this point with 4,048 yards hitting on 28 TD passes with nine interceptions.
