Class 5A State Cross Country Meet in Natchitoches

The Class 5A state cross country meet takes place today at Northwestern State in Natchitoches featuring the St. Paul's Wolves.  The Wolves have put together an amazing season to this point winning all of its meets including a super performance winning the Northshore Metro Championships last Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas in Hammond. St. Paul's dominated that competition with an amazing 18 points, cruising past the 12-team field. The Wolves captured the first four positions with Zachary Albright winning the individual title with a time of 14:41 edging freshman teammate Eric Coston at 14:49 followed by D. C. Lipani 15:32 and Kraemer Jackson 15:33 in fourth as the Wolves are peaking at the right time, which is what their coach Terryl Chatham wanted. Northshore's Noah Martin ran a competitive race finishing in fifth place at  15:34.43, establishing a personal best. Mandeville's Dylan Heck took sixth in the Northshore Metro Championships followed by Ponchatoula's Isaiah Gilbert and St. Paul's Spencer Albright in seventh followed by Northshore's John Neal. Good luck to all of the competitors participating at today's state meet.
