New Orleans Pelicans stop Cleveland Cavaliers for third consecutive victory


The New Orleans Pelicans won their third straight evening their record at 6-6 Friday night securing a competitive 104-100 home victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers giving head coach Monty Williams his 100th career victory.
Anthony Davis continued his early season outstanding play registering another double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds, which included nine on the offensive end as the Pels out rebounded the Cavaliers 48-37. Davis added three blocks, giving him 19 in his last three games. Eric Gordon finished with 19 points including a clutch 3-pointer with just 31 seconds left to help lead the Pels to the win. Kyrie Irving topped all scorers with 22 points and former New Orleans guard Jarrett Jack finished with 19 points in his return to the
Arena before a crowd of 15,186.
The Pelicans return to action tonight on the road in San Antonio, squaring off with the 11-1  Spurs.
