Pelicans outclassed by the L. A. Lakers on the road

The New Orleans Pelicans were in Los Angeles last night and didn't get it done falling to the
Lakers 116-95, slipping to 3-5 on the season. The Pelicans couldn't make up a 55-39 halftime
deficit on the road, while the Lakers were without Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash..
Pels' shooting guard Eric Gordon led the the team with 17 points and three steals in 30 minutes of action. Anthony Davis contributed 15 points with five rebounds. Tyreke Evans delivered 11 points with six assists.
The Lakers, 4-5, out rebounded the Pelicans 53-31 controlling play in the paint.
The Pelicans remain on the road tonight taking on the Utah Jazz.
New Orleans announced they have signed Lou Amundson and Josh Childress, while waiving Lance
Thomas and Arinze Onuaku. Amundson, who played at Nevada-Las Vegas played in 18 games with the team last year, averaging 2.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest in 11.7 minutes per game. Amundson, a 6-9 forward also saw time with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Chicago Bulls last season. Childress, 30, 6-foot-8 from Stanford is in his eighth season. He has played in 387 career games including 70 starts. Childress averages 9.2 points per game with 4.8 rebounds. Childress appeared in 14 games last season with the Brooklyn Nets.
