SLU's head football coach Ron Roberts receives contract

Southeastern Louisiana University inked second-year head coach Ron Roberts to an
extension, which runs through the next three years. Roberts' contract extension is subject to
approval by the University of Louisiana Board of Supervisors, according to athletic director Jay
Artigues.
Roberts, after posting a 5-6 record with a 5-2 Southland Conference mark in his first season,
as the 7-2 Lions are on a roll having won six consecutive games. The Lions top the Southland
Conference with a 4-0 record following last week's convincing 41-7 route of McNeese State in
Lake Charles.
SLU is off to its best start since 1981 and is ranked No. 16 in the Sports Network Top 25 and
17th in the FCS Coaches poll.
The Lions are on the road this week traveling to Conway Arkansas to battle Central Arkansas.
The game is being broadcast on ESPN3 with a 7 o'clock kickoff.
Southeastern Athletics is encouraging fans to get tickets early for the two remaining home games against Sam Houston State and Nicholls State as tickets are selling rapidly. The Southeastern fans are continuing to Lion Up!
