Former Slidell High star Matt Forte helps lead Chicago to win

Former Slidell High Tigers' running back Matt Forte helped lead the Chicago Bears to a 27-20 Monday Night Football victory over the Green Bay Packers.
Chicago running back Matt Forte was a difference maker last night along with backup quarterback
Josh McCown as they helped lead the Bears to a hard fought 27-20 victory over the Green Bay
Packers in Monday Night Football at Lambeau Field.
Chicago and Green Bay are 5-3 tied with the Detroit Lions in the NFC North Division. Chicago
led 17-10 at the half.
Forte, who starred for the Slidell High Tigers before moving on to a successful college career
at Tulane, led all ball carriers with 125 yards on 24 carries, scoring on a one-yard run. Forte
also hauled in five passes for another 54 yards with a long gain of 33 yards.
Bears' starter Jay Culter didn't play still out with a groin injury. His back up McCown came
through big time for the Bears turning in a very efficient game, hitting on 22-of-41 for 272
yards and two TD passes without throwing an interception.
Green Bay starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers was knocked out of the game suffering an injury to
his non-throwing shoulder, being replaced by Seneca Wallace, who completed 11-of-19 for 114
yards with an interception. The extent of Rodgers injury is not known. Rodgers completed
1-of-2 passes for 27 yards before heading to the sidelines. Former Green Bay Packer quarterback
Matt Flynn, who starred at LSU, was released by the Buffalo Bills yesterday and the Packers may
be interested in picking him up with a waiver claim to shore up their QB situation.
