Southeastern Lions continue move up the polls

 Southeastern Louisiana University, 9-2, 6-0 in Southland Conference play, continues to move up in the Football Championship Subdivision national polls. The Lions, which were previously ranked 14th in both  polls entering the Sam Houston State game, have vaulted to No. 8 in the Sports Network poll and sit at No. 10 in the FCS Coaches poll.
Southeastern  tallied 24 unanswered points in the victory over Sam Houston State with Bryan Bennett passing for 268 yards and three touchdowns. Bennett connected with Marquis Fruge on two scoring tosses and found Xavier Roberson on a 62-yard scoring bomb. 
Southeastern is one of three nationally ranked teams from the Southalnd Conference. Second place McNeese State is ranked sixth in the Sports Network poll and eighth in the FCS Coaches poll, while Sam Houston State sits at No. 9 in both polls after being defeated by Southeastern 34-21 Saturday.
